When do we meet?
Tuesdays, gathering around 10:15 AM, starting at 10:30 AM, and playing until noon.
Where do we meet?
Upstairs at the Oakmont West Rec Center, 6470 Meadowridge Drive, Santa Rosa, CA 95409 (map)
What happens?
We have fun playing songs together (and many of us sing along).
Our sessions include a mix of beginner and intermediate songs.
The leader of the week pre-selects some songs, then we open the floor to requests from our song library.
If you're not able to stay for the entire 90 minute session, you're welcome to leave early.
How do I get started playing with the Ukesters?
The Ukesters is open to Oakmont residents and their invited guests.
If you are an Oakmont resident and are comfortable playing a few basic chords, you’re welcome to join us by completing a two-minute online form. When you complete the form, you'll be added to our email list within a few days.
If you’re just starting and need lessons and/or more practice, we offer free beginner tutorials to those who have never played before and wish to learn the basics. Watch the Oakmont News and Inside Oakmont for information about when the next tutorial sessions are starting or contact us.
How do I get the Ukester’s song library?
From this website, you can browse a searchable songbook and access pdf song files by clicking "Songbook (new)" above (or you can access our Google Drive songbook directly).
Many Ukesters view the songs using iPads and the app “forScore”.
Some members use binders with printouts of the songs.
